Volume 2: Exodus from Mt. Gox

Book II – The ₿aw

2:1 Time passed, blocks were forged,
And the words of Satoshi spread across the earth.
Those who held wallets multiplied,
And ₿itcoin was no longer a stranger’s name.

2:2 Yet the people loved convenience,
And grew weary of guarding their own keys.
They turned to a towering temple of centralization,
A place called Mt. Gox,
And entrusted it with their coins.

“They gave up their keys,
And worshiped usernames and passwords instead.”

2:3 Mt. Gox proclaimed itself secure.
The people were comforted.
Its administrators ruled like priests,
And trades flowed keyless.
Convenience blinded the masses.

2:4 They chanted:

“This place is trustworthy.”
“We have 2FA!”
“It’s a big exchange—we’re safe.”
Yet their faith was not founded on Code,
But on comfort and illusion.

2:5 Then the day came—
Without warning.
The servers froze.
The wallets fell silent.
Support vanished.
And the people's coins were no more.

2:6 Seven hundred and fifty thousand ₿TC —
Vanished.
The value? Immeasurable.
The shock? Earth-shaking.
The media jeered.
Politicians mocked.
Even the faithful were shaken.

“They sought salvation in an exchange, But the exchange forsook them.”

Exodus 2:6

2:7 Yet among the ruins were those
Who remembered the old words of Satoshi:

“Not your keys, not your coins.”
Their eyes were opened.
They began to reclaim their keys,
And prepared for the great Exodus.

2:8 Some restored wallets,
Some etched seed phrases onto paper,
Others bought hardware wallets,
And some ran full nodes —
Becoming their own sovereign banks.

2:9 No longer did they trust the center.
They held their wealth in their own hands.
They walked through the wilderness of cold storage.
The way was hard —
But they were free.

2:10 The world scoffed at them.
“Why make it so complicated?” they asked.
But they smiled and replied:

“Inconvenience is the price of freedom,
And only on Code shall trust truly stand.”

2:11 They passed seed phrases to their children,
Taught multisig to their spouses,
Spread node-running guides in their communities.
And in that soil, a new order sprouted:

“Where centralization fell, The Kingdom of P2P rose.”

Exodus 2:11

2:12 After Mt. Gox,
New exchanges rose and fell.
Scandals repeated.
But those who had once escaped…
Never went back.
